ELY, Cambridgeshire. UK
I returned to Ely again this week and took lunch in the garden at the Almonry Restaurant where there is a fantastic view of the Cathedral and other beautiful architecture. From my table I could see this cluster of buildings clearly.
Time was limited during my visit but I am pleased to have captured at least one quick sketch in my large moleskin sketchbook.

This is beautiful. Not only is it a great sketch, but I just love the building. I love architecture and would love to see this building in real life. I need to travel more. :)
Each time I visit your site, I am amazed at your ability to accurately portray perspective and architecture and illustrate them in such a visually pleasing way. I find myself returning repeatedly! Would you be so kind as to allow me to provide a link to this site for my family and friends to check out?
beautiful view....and sketch...you have such interesting scenery where you live..
What a lovely view! I love building like this with stonework. They always look so interesting. You did a great job on this!! I hope it's OK if I list you in the "links" on my blog.

Terrific sketch, Anita. The brush pen gives a lovely contrast of soft foliage to the old stone.
Love the view, really like your sketch, don't like the restaurant.
Thankyou Laser. Ely has some gorgeous architecture, we are lucky to have quite a mixture here in the Fens.
Joan I would be honoured to have your friends and family visit my blogs - Thankyou, I am flattered!
Thankyou Margaret...Yes, we do!
Joan, thankyou so much both for the kind words and the link on your blog! :)
Thankyou Robyn!
It was such a quick sketch, time was VERY limited, that I felt I could cover more ground with the brush pen on the foliage...I am so pleased you feel it worked ok!
Thanks E-J. The view from this place is just beautiful isn't it.
Beautiful job on the stonework. Great scene to sketch.
Thankyou Phthaloblu!
