ST MARY'S CHURCH, Doddington, Cambridgeshire. UK
St Mary's Churchyard: Pigment liner and watercolour.
Friday night cricket practice has began, taking both of my boys with it!
It was such a fine evening I decided to take my sketchbook rather than come back home after dropping them off.
I drove into Doddington village and before long I was parked aside St Mary's church. Like a magnet, churches seem to pull me toward them, and the churchyard looked so pretty in the dappled sunlight I was not about to resist!

What a great way to spend that time, much better than driving home and back. I really like the roof lines peeking through the tree tops. Nice job.
oh this is just gorgeous! I love the pink tree. :)
Beautiful tree and grounds! I love the colors and composition.
Really, really gorgeous! Thank goodness for the cricket season.
Oh that's lovely, I like your drawing style very much. And so nice to *meet* someone via Everyday Matters who also lives in my area (well, nearly) - I'm in Suffolk.
Oh I love this -- all the lovely springtime pink!!
Lovely Spring image. I have a thing for trees and you captured this one nicely.
Thankyou Deborah. I agree, much more constructive than just driving back home.
Thanx Pugs!
Thankyou for your kind comments Emma!
Aww, thanx Dave!
Thankyou Sarah. Suffolk!...I just spent a whole weekend there with an art friend sketching our way through a couple of national trust homes. You can see the entries on this blog.
I hope to spend some time sketching in Ely again soon, if you are interested in joining us at anytime just let me know!
Thankyou Linda, my time spent here among the pink blossom was very peaceful
