NORFOLK COAST, 4 April 2007

DAY 5

Spent the morning packing up our things into the trucks and then visited South beach for the last time this trip.

Finally managed to get one of the ducks Harry had been feeding all week to stay still long enough for me to capture some kind of likeness...I think the sitting lasted approx. 59 seconds!
The duck had such beautiful head colourings...Obviously, I coloured it after the event.

A most enjoyable pre-season stay at the coast, I am so pleased I decided to go ahead and book it at such short notice, the break did everyone the power of good!

Anita, I love your sketches!! I just wish I could read your notes on the page, nosy-parker that I am. I'm so glad you had a chance for a nice vacation- thank you for sharing your sketches.

Have a wonderful Easter!

Anita, reading these posts and seeing your beautiful sketches, I could almost have been strolling along the beach with you! Wonderful! You are so good at tackling complex subjects: Blackbeard's Adventure, for example ... a mess of stuff and yet somehow you manage to untangle it all for the viewer! I also love the way you've captured the beach/coastal scenes with minimal colour. And how wonderful that your sons were there too, enjoying ice creams while mum sketched.

Thank you for sharing these. It's so interesting to see how people tackle holiday sketching/journalling. You have made some scenes and happenings very memorable.I am just preparing to go on a 4 day cyle ride, sketching along the way.

Anita, I love seeing your sketchbook and looking back at your older posts too. I like that you sketch everything, even a bed. Thanks for sharing these. It looks like you had a great time. WetCanvas has given me so many great new places to check out.
