In just over a week I will be in Disneyland Paris and I am taking a sketchbook!
The sketchbook I have decided to take is the Winsor & Newton Artist's Journal, a gift from my eldest Son on my Birthday. The soft leather cover holds 48, A6 (4x6inches) pages of 150gsm pure white paper, held secure by a flap and tie that winds around two colour coordinated buttons.
The journal is available in 3 sizes (4x6" ~ 6x8" ~ 8x8") and can be purchased at the Heaton Cooper Studio online shop.
I have already began making entries into the journal, logging my preparations for the trip and, of course, creating that all important first page. I thought I'd share them with you during the countdown to Disney Day.

A great beginning. Can't wait to see your sketches of the trip. I live by the California Disneyland, even worked there. Looking forward to your views of Disneyland Paris.
What a perfect 1st page for that journal! I can't wait to see it grow. :)
You're going to have a great time, I'm sure. I've been there twice with my daughter. The second time was best: she was too old to want to go on It's a Small World! The first time we must have been on that ride 10 times...I can hear that bl***y song now!!
Thankyou Deborah.
I didn't even know there was a Californian Disney until last week, what fun it must have been to work there...tiring too I expect!
Thankyou Pugs!
LOL...Dave you made me laugh and almost spit my coffee out across my computer screen.
I felt much the same about the Teltubbies theme tune- Parental torture! Aaaarghh!
Thanks, Anita, now I've got the teletubbies theme going through my head as well!! Mind you, I must say that I was quite an expert at the Teletubbies dance!
Have great fun on your trip (I'm sure you will!). Can't wait to see the sketches you will being back to share. :-)
So you're into leather, eh? You've never revealed this on your blog before, LOL.
Is the paper in that journal the same stuff that W&N put in those dark blue hardback sketchbooks of theirs that you love?
Anita - it is lovely to share your excitement. I remember when I took my daughter to Disneyland in California many years ago, I had tears running down my cheeks. I think it was because as a little girl from the sticks in Australia I had never dreamed I would get there. Have a wonderful trip!
Thankyou Phthaloblu
LOL...I thought it was time I shared that information with you E-J. ;)
No, the paper isn't the 170gsm heavyweight that I like in the little blue books and it doesn't mention wet media at all in the item description but it seems to be taking it just fine, a little buckling but I quite like that look in a sketchbook as you know from your gorgeous little book you brought on the sketchcrawl.
Actually, I haven't yet used a W&N product I wasn't entirely happy with and most of my media are W&N.
Awww Robyn, I always cry too when I am happy...and we wonder why men have a hard time understanding women? LOL!
LOL...Dave your teletubby dance would make a great U-TUBE!
Oh, How wonderful for you and your family. You are definitely going to have a lot to journal about, I'm sure. Be specific, because my kids and I are going to live vicariously through you :-).
LOL...I will keep your children in mind when I make my 'descriptive' notes Laura! ;)
Thanks for your advice on sketchbooks. I now have the same as you have on this picture, and I am taking it camping tomorrow
You're welcome Paulien. Look forward to seeing the sketches you create inside it while camping.
